More Lunches!
8/23/16 - Maya LOVES potstickers so I made some for lunch! Edamame, grapes and dipping sauce round out the meal.
8/25/26 - Pasta! Everyone loves pasta! Maya got bowtie pasta with some leftover homemade meat sauce along with watermelon and veggies - snap peas, celery, carrot and sweet red pepper
While Max got some leftover mac-n-cheese from a night out with the grandparents. He doesn't like peppers but loves tomatoes and I give him some ranch to dip his veggies in.
8/26/16 - National Dog Day so we had hot dogs for lunch! I wrapped them in foil to try to keep them warm, kind of like at the ball park. Veggies, strawberries, ketchup and a rice crispy treat. Maya got some snap pea crisps while Max got goldfish for some crunch.
8/29/16 - Breakfast for lunch! I made some really dense and yummy zucchini muffins. Max got Noosa lemon yogurt (the BEST!) and strawberries.
Sadly Maya cannot eat Noosa yogurt so she got some deli meat for protein. Both kids got some margarine to spread on their muffins. Maya had lost a tooth over the weekend so she got Tooth picks. (Hee hee!)
8/30/16 - Another Breakfast for lunch because I had bought these bagels before making the muffins. I got mini Brown Sugar Cinnamon bagels and spread Maya's with margarine and Max's with cream cheese. Maya got more deli meat cut to look like a flower and Max got a hard boiled egg. Maya got watermelon and cantaloupe but Max only likes watermelon. Both kids got some veggies, but they haven't been eating them :(
8/31/16 - National Trail Mix Day! I made a "hiking" lunch with sandwiches and trail mix. Maya got a turkey sandwich and mixed fruit trail mix that I added some dark chocolate covered pepitas to, some cantaloupe and veggies. Max had a field trip so got a brown bag lunch with PB&J sandwich, nut/fruit/yogurt covered raisin trail mix, some yogurt covered almonds, juice box, grapes and veggies.
9/1/16 - Mexican for lunch! My kids LOVE Mexican food. Maya got taquitos that I bought on a whim at Costco and she loved, salsa and homemade refried beans for dipping, watermelon and cantaloupe and veggies. She also got a bag of chips not pictured.
Max got a steak burrito, salsa, quacamole, refried beans, chips, veggies with ranch and watermelon.
9/2/16 - Pizza day! Max decided to buy hot lunch because they had pizza too. Maya got sandwich thins with sauce, Daiya cheese and pepperoni, strawberries and veggies and in the small container is a few gummy bears for a treat.
Happy lunching!

Back To School, Back To Blogging....
Well, I've noticed that I completely fell off the blogging band wagon last year. Sooooo busy! I'm hoping with the new schedule and a few changes at home I'll do a better job of keeping on top of it this year. Although, not starting out too well as Maya started school two weeks ago already! But today is Max's first day so I figured I'd do a round up of the last two weeks (of the lunches I remembered to photograph!) And start fresh. :)
8/8/16 - Maya's first day of middle school! I made the kids nachos (beans, meat and rice for Maya, add cheese and take out rice for Max!) with Fritos for dipping, fresh blackberries and raspberries (6 of each, get the symbolism?), and carrots/cucumbers/snap peas. Plus a bag of fruit snacks for dessert and a sweet SayPlease note.
8/10/16 - National Smore's Day! Who knew? Had to celebrate with "camp" food so I made hamburgers (in the tin foil to stay warmish), ketchup in the squeeze bottle, peaches, snap peas/carrots/cucumber and, of course, smore's - graham cracker pieces, chocolate chips and mini marshmallows!
8/17/16 - Burritos! My kids love burritos. Today I put in ground beef, homemade refried beans, rice and cheese (for Max). I gave them Fritos on the side for some crunchy and blackberries/grapes with veggies - cucumber/snap peas/carrot/grape tomato with ranch for dipping.
8/18/16 - Who doesn't love spaghetti!? I found some homemade meatballs and sauce in the depths of the freezer and topped the spaghetti with that and cheese (for Max), grapes, veggies - tomatoes/cucumbers/celery/carrots with ranch for dipping. Yum!
8/19/16 - Easiest lunch ever! Homemade lunchables! Snowflake Ritz crackers (no, I don't want snow yet! just need to use these up!), with salami/ham/turkey/pepperoni cut into triangles; cantaloupe chunks, veggies - carrot/snap peas/cucumber/yellow bell pepper strips; and dried fruit - pineapple and apricots.
8/22/16 - Max's first day of school was the day after a party at our house. So I made up some leftover hamburgers with lettuce/tomato/cheese for him and ketchup in the squeeze bottle and a pickle slice on the side. He got watermelon chunks and veggies - cherry tomatoes from the garden, carrots/snap peas/celery and ranch for dipping. And for a treat he got a leftover cinnamon rice krispy treat. YUM!
Enjoy!
8/9/16 - Book Lover's Day! If you know my kids you know they love to read so we had to celebrate Book Lover's Day with a Book-wich! Inside the book (torilla) is ham, turkey, salami (Max also got cheese and mayo), cantaloupe chunks and veggie - snap peas/carrots/cucumber.
8/12/16 - Simple lunch of chicken salad and pita chips, blackberries and veggies - celery/snap peas/cucumber/carrot.
Yum!

School's Back!!
School started for us last Monday. So I figure I should start blogging lunches again. Hopefully I'll keep up with it better this year!
I can't believe it's Maya's last first day of elementary school! Here they are on the first day. Aren't they cute?
For lunch on day 1 we had "book" sandwiches made with tortillas, ham, turkey and salami (and cheese for Max). Like the titles? And do you see the book worms? :) They had carrots and snap peas (Max has ranch dip in his container and carrot coins because he can't bite regular carrots yet with so many missing teeth!) They also had strawberry hearts and raspberries on crayon picks. A few Ritz baked crackers and of course some Lunchbox Love cards.
Hope everyone had a great first day of school!
Thanks for Reading!

Turkey/cheese witch with broom sandwiches
Baby carrots and snap peas with ranch dip and a witch pick
Cauldron with grape halves and a skull candy stuck inside
Tuesday 10/28: Mummy Dogs
Hot dog wrapped in crescent roll dough on a bed of "grass" (lettuce)
Grapes with a Halloween pick
Baby carrots, snap peas and cucumbers with ranch dip and ghost pick
Inside the round container is a ketchup and mustard eye
Wednesday 10/29: Spider Pasta
Ramen noodle "web" with spider eggs (peas) and spiders on top
Ghost toast
Apple chunks
Instead of ghost toast Maya wanted leftover "Spider Egg" biscuits
Thursday 10/30: National Candy Corn Day
Cheese quesadilla in shape of candy corn; candy corn; ranch dressing for veggies
Pineapple triangles with candy corn pick
Baby carrots, snap peas and cucumbers
Maya had a bean quesadilla and I colored the tortilla with food safe markers yellow and red (didn't have orange).
Max didn't want pineapple so he got half a banana and tomatoes added to his veggies
Friday 10/31: Halloween!! Also Frankenstein Friday
Frankenstein ham/cheese sandwich with frankenstein pick
Orange chunks under the rind with a pumpkin face
Snap pea and baby carrot "fingers" with skull ring
I loved the natural hole on this bread to make the mouth!
